Parce qu\u2019il permet de s\u2019exon\u00e9rer de deux institutions constitutives du salaire \u2013 la qualification et les cotisations sociales \u2013 le SMIC devient l\u2019horizon d\u2019une carri\u00e8re salariale et non son point de d\u00e9part. Cette garantie minimale que constitue le SMIC r\u00e9duit cependant la r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration \u00e0 une logique de besoins \u00e0 couvrir et nie la qualification des travailleurs ou de leur poste que le salaire est cens\u00e9 reconna\u00eetre.
